The Events tab is your farm diary — a place to record and schedule anything that happens on the property. Vet visits, musters, spray days, fencing jobs, pregnancy testing — anything worth having a date on goes here.
Events can be edited or deleted at any time by tapping on them in the list.
BlackCow uses event types to organise and filter your farm diary. Choose the type that best fits what you're recording:
| Type | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Vet | Vet visits, pregnancy testing, herd health checks, foot treatments |
| Mustering | Muster days, drafting, mob movements, yarding |
| Spray | Herbicide or pesticide application days (also record in Spray Profiles for the chemicals used) |
| Fencing | New fencing, repairs, maintenance |
| Maintenance | Infrastructure work — troughs, pumps, sheds, roads |
| Weaning | Weaning day — when calves are separated from cows |
| Fertiliser | Fertiliser or lime application (also log in the Fertiliser section) |
| Other | Anything that doesn't fit the above — visitors, deliveries, administrative |
The event type determines which icon appears on the calendar and how events are grouped in the Events report.
The Events tab shows your events in a list, sorted by date. Upcoming events appear first, with past events accessible by scrolling down or switching to the history view.
Tap any event in the list to see its full details, edit it, or mark it as complete.
Events with a future date will appear as alerts on the Dashboard as the date approaches. This is a reminder system — there's nothing you need to set up, it happens automatically for any event with an upcoming date.
Once an event's date has passed, it moves from "upcoming" to "history" and no longer shows on the Dashboard alert panel.
All your farm events appear in Reports → Events, where you can:
The Events report is useful for annual planning — looking back at what happened each month last year to plan the year ahead.
